Two Movies I’m Looking Forward To

Believe it or not we are approaching the end of the year and you know what that means, the award season is ready to grace us with its presence. The movie industry seems to be holding on during this stretch of financial disturbance the United States is going through, and for the most part movies have been fun, creative, and imaginative.

Two movies that I am looking forward to seeing in theaters are 50/50 and The Ides of March.

50/50 is all set to release September 30th. The story revolves around 27 year old Adam (played by Joseph Gordon- Levitt) who is diagnosed with cancer, and tries to figure how to deal with the disease that has taken so many lives away. Kyle (played by Seth Rogen) plays Adam’s best friend, and unofficial shoulder to lean on. Both actors have carved a significant place in Hollywood, and the combination is extremely intriguing.

The other film that has my attention is The Ides of March. As a nation we are already in campaign mode, and we see politicians touting around why they should replace Barack Obama, while President Obama is telling us why he deserves another 4 years in office. It’s a interesting political process that takes place, and this movie looks at it through the eyes of a staffer.

A star studded cast headed up by the man who seems to be taking Hollywood by storm; Ryan Gosling, and the ever so popular George Clooney. Clooney plays Governor Mike Morris, and Gosling plays Stephen Myers, between the two an interesting look at “dirty” politics through the eyes of a staffer is presented. It’s certainly releasing at a time where campaign fever has taken over the news. With this brilliant cast, I can’t help but be intrigued by The Ides of March.Look out for it in theaters October 7th.
