“Iron Man 3” which features the always entertaining Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, is all set for his newest adventure. This time around Stark will take on his most powerful enemy yet: “The Mandarin.”
“Iron Man 3” showcases some new additions to the cast. The veteran Ben Kingsley will play “The Mandarin,” while Guy Pearce will play “Aldrich Killian.”
The “Iron Man” franchise so far has grossed over a billion dollars worldwide, and while most of the cast remains intact, a directorial change has taken place for the third installment. Jon Favreau who directed and starred in the first two installments will still be seen as Happy Hogan in “Iron Man 3,” but his directing duties have been replaced by Shane Black. This is just Black’s second directorial film, first being “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” which also starred Downey Jr.
“In regards to rumors of Robert Downey Jr. hanging up the armor after Iron Man 3, Shane Black told Premiere Magazine, “Something tells me that it will not be the case, and will be seen in a fourth, or fifth … But I can be a little excited.”
As far as what to expect from Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3, Shane Black said, “There are plenty of moments in the film, you will see where Robert is freed from scenario to invent something completely unexpected. He remained the actor hyper intuitive, fun and unpredictable. “
“Iron Man 3” hits theaters May 3rd, until then here is another teaser for your viewing pleasure.
